Welcome to LicenseAcademy ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by License Academy. By accessing or using the LicenseAcademy platform at licenseacademy.io (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

LicenseAcademy is an online exam preparation platform designed to help users study for Florida contractor licensing exams, including the CGC (Certified General Contractor) exam. The Service includes practice exams, study tools, AI-powered code search, analytics, spaced repetition, and related features.

2. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering and to update it as necessary.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Free and Premium Tiers

LicenseAcademy offers both free and premium (paid) tiers. Free-tier users have access to a limited set of features. Premium features, including timed exams, AI code search, predictive readiness scores, and advanced analytics, require an active paid subscription. New accounts may receive a free trial period, after which a paid subscription is required to continue using premium features.

5. Payments and Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the account settings or Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.

6. Refund Policy

If you are unsatisfied with your subscription, you may request a refund within 7 days of your initial purchase by contacting support@forjalabs.net. Refund requests after this window are handled at our discretion. Renewals are not automatically refundable.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) share your account with others; (b) use automated tools to scrape or download content; (c) reproduce, distribute, or resell any exam questions, code sections, or other content from the Service; (d) attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the platform; or (e) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on LicenseAcademy, including exam questions, explanations, code search indexes, and user interface designs, is owned by License Academy or used under license. Regulatory code references are provided for educational purposes and reference their respective governing bodies. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary content without written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Exam Outcomes

LicenseAcademy is a study aid and does not guarantee that using the Service will result in passing any licensing exam. Exam content on the platform is designed for practice purposes and may not reflect the exact content or format of actual licensing exams. You are responsible for verifying all information with official sources.

10. Code References

The code search feature provides references to building codes, statutes, and standards for educational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the content is current or error-free. Always consult official published codes for regulatory compliance.

11. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, License Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Florida.
