License Academy ("we," "us," or "our") operates LicenseAcademy at licenseacademy.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
Study data: We collect information about your study sessions, exam results, question responses, bookmarks, notes, and preferences to provide personalized study recommendations and track your progress.
Usage data: We collect basic usage information such as which features you use, session timestamps, and performance metrics to improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) provide and personalize the Service, including spaced repetition scheduling, weak-area detection, and readiness scoring; (b) communicate with you about your account, including trial expiry reminders, study nudges, and weekly digest emails; (c) process payments through our third-party payment processor; and (d) improve and develop new features for the platform.
3. Payment Processing
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe, your payment information is sent directly to Stripe and is not stored on our servers. We receive only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data. You can review it at stripe.com/privacy.
4. Email Communications
We may send you transactional emails (account verification, password resets) and optional marketing emails (trial reminders, study nudges, weekly digests). You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time through your account settings or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional emails related to your account security cannot be opted out of.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Render, Inc. in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures, including: encrypted passwords using bcrypt with SHA-256 pre-hashing; HTTPS encryption for all data in transit; JWT-based authentication with 60-minute token expiry; rate limiting on authentication endpoints; and security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options).
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with: (a) Stripe, for payment processing; (b) service providers who assist in operating the platform (hosting, email delivery), under strict confidentiality agreements; and (c) as required by law or to protect our legal rights.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
LicenseAcademy uses browser local storage to maintain your login session (JWT token) and user preferences (theme, study settings). We do not use third-party tracking cookies. No advertising cookies are used on the platform.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including exam history, study progress, bookmarks, notes, spaced repetition data, and preferences — is permanently deleted from our servers. If you have an active Stripe subscription, it will be cancelled upon account deletion.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) access your personal data through the platform's dashboard and analytics; (b) correct inaccurate information through your account settings; (c) delete your account and all associated data through the Settings page; and (d) opt out of non-essential email communications. 10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
