Florida GC Contract Administration Exam: 10 Licensing Law Practice Questions

By LicenseAcademy Team · October 21, 2026 · 7 min read

Contract Administration is one of the three exams for a Florida General Contractor license. DBPR's candidate information booklet lists it at 60 scored questions in 4.5 hours, open-book, with 70% needed to pass.

What the exam covers

DBPR's content outline (January 2020) divides it into four areas. Each percentage may vary by up to three points either way.

AreaContentShare
APreconstruction Activities27%
BProject Contracts40%
CObtaining Licenses, Permits and Approvals20%
DConstruction Procedures and Operations13%

The ten questions below cover Area C, where the outline names knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapter 489. Chapter 489 is not a separate book on the Contract Administration reference list; licensing law is covered in the Contractors Manual, whose chapters include Licensing (see the 2026 and 2027 book list). We will add samples for the contract areas as more questions on the AIA documents pass the same checks.

About these questions

These come from the LicenseAcademy question bank. Each one was checked against the text of the section it cites: our source-grounded verifier derived the answer from that section and the quote it relied on was confirmed to appear word for word in the code or statute, and we reviewed each question and citation by hand before publishing. Questions that did not meet that bar were left out. Try each one with the book open, then use "Where to find it" to check how fast you got there — on an open-book exam, that is the skill being tested.
